I feel selfish

Medical costs will be over $80000 a year for me to live with MS. I feel it might be selfish for me to keep living, as I only make half that a year, and I earn too much to qualify for any financial help anywhere. Any insight or suggestions?

Hi @MS47MALE, I live in Canada so I don't have first hand experience, but an American friend of mine pointed me to https://www.accesshealthct.com. I plugged in some raw numbers based on your income of 40k and you appear to qualify for some significant tax credits and ~20 different plans on the open market for a net cost of about 9 - 10k per year (including deductibles). I did include Ocrevus as part of your profile, and a significant number of GP visits and diagnostic tests. As far as you being selfish, screw that. You have worth to family. You have worth to friends. You have worth to your community. You have worth to humanity. And NONE of that worth is measured in dollars or cents. If anyone tells you different you can proudly suggest that they kindly go f*%^ themselves. You were dealt a crap hand, but that doesn't make you a crap human. You are not a victim. You are a tough mofo with a tougher row to hoe than most others. Be proud of who you are and how much more work you have to do just to get up in the morning. You're made of special stuff and are SO worth it. Stay tough, @MS47MALE.
