Ocrevus vaccines UK

Hello again. Sorry to hog the forum but I am just reading about al the vaccines people are having before treatment. No one has checked my vaccine history and I start Ocrevus on 16th. It it normal in the UK not to have vaccines before starting Ocrevus? Thank you

Unfortunately, nobody checked my vaccination status before I started. However, the MS nurse wanted me to have an extra covid vaccination. Therefore, I got my 4th covid vaccine beforehand. I think the reason for this was after treatment the immune system is compromised and therefore the body doesn’t mount the same immune responses to vaccines 🤷‍♀️. Can you speak to your MS nurse or GPS?Good luck.

Hello @Kirstie_Hawkins , a pneumonia vaccine is usually given by your GP surgery before starting ocrelizumab. Probably best to check on this with your MS nurse as a period of time between vaccination and infusion will be required. My MS nurse went through my vaccination history, along with childhood illnesses, and contacted my GP surgery to arrange the pneumonia vaccination prior to my first infusion
