Post MRI neuro appointment

So today I had the appointment. I sat there and he asked how I was... I said feeling much better, some intermittent sensations, but Mainly tingling in hands and arms gone, some pain in left leg that come and goes. I had had a scan of brain and c spine. He says he has looked over them and there is absolutely nothing to see. I asked what of the symptoms that started those 4-5 months ago, which peaked 2 months ago and with what is left today. He said that it could have been an infection in the cns, or maybe a 'benign strain' or similar if it is ms.. He said people will have these episodes which never amount to much more than tingling. He said a LP could be carried out, but with the MRI showing nothing at all, it is likely to be negative... If it was positive, given the results of the MRI, unlikely that there would be treatment unless there appeared to be activity.. So, I will go with that. Touch wood...any lingering symptoms will disappear completely and it will be put down to an infection or a very benign ms raising its head.. We will see.... But all looks to be good.

@kemofin , it really is a case of whether you are happy with the outcome, which it seems that you are, which is good. MS, which it may or may not be, is notoriously difficult to diagnose. And, a clear MRI, as has seen before, is not a positive or negative indicator. But, you're now aware of the possibility of this condition and you can live your life accordingly, taking care to avoid stress. Let's hope that this experience can start to become a distant memory for you.

Happy isn't the word... Pleased that where an MRI should have shown something hasn't and that is nothing but good. The neuro said that there is a possibility that it the MRI may not be sensitive enough to pick something up, but in that case it would be very small indeed. He says that he see's a number of people that this happens on and he sends them away with the notion of put it behind you and get on with your life and he doesn't see them again. In my own mind, nothing is definite, but it could have been an infection of sorts which has left some irritating systems that are going away.. When they are gone and remain gone for some time then I will be happy. If it is more sinister and it rears its head again in another 10 years then deal with it then....at the moment it would appear that I'm lucky to not to have to deal with anything right now. I have read people's stories of repeatedly not have positive MRI's and needing to insist on further investigations....but that is usually fuelled by some ongoing symptoms...be it fatigue or loss of bladder control etc etc... Fortunately I have none of these, or any numbness or balance issues or many of the other things he checked for. If after all it has been MS, perhaps I am in the 10% of benign status. I did change my diet lifestyle etc, all of which has had a positive effect over the past months...perhaps the diet change has been a contributing factor as to why nothing can be seen and things have gone away...who knows! For now, I need time to get comfortable with it and if there are no more issues over the coming months... I can then be happy that it was not what it could have been.
