Wheelchair

I used to resist using a wheelchair thinking I could get by! Well after quite a few episodes of extreme fatigue and depression I gave in! It really is a lifesaver in many ways! My legs don’t wear out as fast, fatigue is rare and it gives my 9 year old granddaughter something to do at the store! LOL. I used to feel ashamed using the chair but I am slowly getting over it! Anyone else feel the same?

Several years ago I had signed up to be chaperone for my daughters band trip to Washington DC. And then I had to have a hip replacement...and then my recovery wasn't very good! so a bit difficult. In addition to my MS, which at that point wasn't impacting me as much, so I was kind of a mess. I did the best I could. When we got to the White House tour one of the tour guides pushed a wheelchair over that we could use if we wanted...so I swallowed my pride and sat down. Was so glad I did! my daughter pushed me around and we could use it to help get all the stuff around that we needed. I didn't end the tour terribly wiped and could do the activities they had planned for after the tour as I still had the energy. If it works for you - do it ;-)

@watsoncraig

I used a chair on a recent holiday and felt embarrassed initially then thought that if it makes my life easier and better then suck it up and use it
