Registering with a GP, fter a house move

I moved house days before the lock down, and have stayed indoors ever since. I'm trying to register with a new GP, but they are asking me to go in to the practice to complete the registration. I'm in a dilema, have no GP, or risk going out. What if I'm ill? I take Gilenya, and appreciate the risks are slightly higher.

Hi @janetc, what bad timing!! What about contacting your old surgery to see if they could instigate the transfer, given your vulnerable circumstance? Personally, if it were me, I would prioritise registration, because at east that would give you protection. It's a tough one though....

@janetc I ended up in a similar situation as I was waiting for some ongoing test results before changing and then the lockdown happened. I decided to leave it rather than give anyone the hassle of admin at this time, I was also I admit reluctant to visit any GP surgery just to complete registration at this time. I am still registered with my old GP so can contact them for any medication in the meantime, they would not come out to see me though but a lot of people are displaced during lockdown for various reasons so health care would have to be provided wherever they are at this time. If you need to access medication etc and you have no GP at present then you may need to register. Ring them again and ask if you can register online and then complete after this crisis settles down, due to your vulnerability, alternatively they may see you on a temporary patient basis.
