βIFN-1a/1b while waiting Ocrevus?

Hey! My neurologist thinks Ocrevus is the best choice for my early PPMS. Because of insurance paperwork, I have to wait until march-june 2019 to get it though. Is there any benefit in starting treatment with βIFNs (Rebif or Betaferon/Betaseron) for less than a year? Or would you wait to start Ocrevus directly? I feel fine but progression scares me. Thanks!

@fxms , wow, that's a bit of an obscure question. I'm not sure that anyone would have and experience of a similar situation to provide any advice. I'm not even sure if a Neuro would be able to answer the question with any degree of certainty. But, they would be best placed to provide constructive advice.

@stumbler , IFN-β-1b (Betaferon) was the go to choice (besides the more expesive rituximab) for the treatment of PPMS prior to the introduction of Ocrevus. It is also widely used to treat SPMS in my country. Assuming SPMS and PPMS have at least something in common, and because access to IFNs is quite easy, i though it could be a possibility. I´ll go over this with my Neuro if the request for ocrelizumab is delayed or takes more time.
