Refused laser hair removal treatment

Hi everyone Hope you are all doing Ok. Bit of a random and probably trivial one but does anyone know if a clinic can refuse to treat you for laser hair removal if you have MS? I disclosed that I had MS when enquiring about getting this done and they are now refusing to treat me without a letter from my doctor. I am sure I could get a letter but I just wanted to check if anyone had any experience with this before I start harassing my doctor who obviously doesn’t have time to waste on this. I am not on any medication so nothing that I am aware of is contradictory to this treatment and I wondered if it’s even legal for clinics to do this under the equality act? Apologies as I know there are far more pressing problems we are all dealing with but this has just annoyed me so wanted to get advice in case anyone else has been through this or something similar. Thank you!

I've had laser hair removal. It's IPL they don't like giving or some of the facials that use electric currents. It's not a discrimination thing, the treatments are contrary with MS because of the electrical current. Years ago you could buy toning pads. You put them on yourself, chose your level and they emitted a n electrical shock to tone the muscles. It said in the literature that anyone with MS could not use it.

@sprout thank you - this is just laser not IPL so not sure what the big deal is. Will just go somewhere else and not tell them about MS this time. Newly diagnosed so still learning!
