Remylenation: The Holy Grail

Finding a way to get the human nervous system to grow back the myelin, the nerve covering that MS attacks and causes the symptoms, be they minor or major, we all experience is the next huge hurdle. - I link to a total science paper here: https://www.cell.com/cell-reports/pdf/S2211-1247(20)30611-2.pdf?_returnURL=https%3A%2F%2Flinkinghub.elsevier.com%2Fretrieve%2Fpii%2FS2211124720306112%3Fshowall%3Dtrue - The upshot is that they seem to be able to start this in mice. Mice...it is always mice. I feel nothing like a mouse. A lab rat maybe. A mouse, not so much. Anyhow, they are managing it, albeit very slowly. Do not get your hopes up now. - I post this as a glimpse towards the future. Thank you to Dr David Baker (Mouse Doctor on the Barts blog) for sharing the paper with me and then v politely pointing out that it is actually Open Access making it free. Doh. - The original post is here: https://multiple-sclerosis-research.org/2020/05/human-repair-cells-repair-a-mouse/ - Enjoy the weather.
@ItsMewithMS

Excellent work and it gives up hope...even if it won't be in time for us we can hope there is a future without this awful disease. I will need to read through it more to see if they also tracked or looked at spinal lesions. I think that is what give me the worst problems and whenever the MS nurse gal calls me she keeps talking about brain lesions...I have to keep working on her ;-)
