Hi I’m new to the site, I’ve had ms since 2003 it has affected my mobility and so now use a wheelchair most days.I have heard about oxygen therapy and dont know whether to give it a go but before I spend time and money I thought I’d see if anyone else had tried it and can give me any feedback.

Hi, i started Oxygen treatment a few months ago and i didnt notice a beneift ( or so i thought!) until i had to take a few weeks off due to infected sinuses. THe tiredness which had become normal to me before the treatment seemed to come back very quickly and ny neuro itch in my left arm resurfaced- to behonest i hadn;t noticed at first that it had subsided as its such a part of my life and always there. the other good thing about the oxygen is the fab people i have met in the chamber and their fab tips and outlook on life. I go to a charity who provided it and its seven punds per treatment. i try to go weekly though at the beginning they give you a course of twenty treatments- hard going but worth while. i’m not an expert by any means but if youhave any questions please give me a shout 🙂

i go to the MS therapy centre in Dundee. i think there is also another one in scone ( both of these are in East Scotland). I went again this morning to get my “fix”. it greatly improves my sleep and ive been getting “fizy” legs so i hope it will also knock that on the head. ITs no wonder cure and you have to make the committment to go regularly. Im going on holiday for two weeks at the end of this month and a bit scared about being away for such a long time- but it may be the tests to prove to myself how well it is working. I am also on Copaxone and i have the attitude that if i think its doing good then it is. good luck with your O2 Journey

I spoke to a lady @ MS Life Manchester about hyperbaric oxygen chambers and she did not know we had one in Hull which is currently not being used by the NHS to treat MS but i have since founf out that this is coming up for review in July 2012 – i know the dr involved with the chamber and wanted to pass their detais on but not sure who it was i spoke to! they were near the shift ms/therapy centre stands – does anyone know who i can contact to try and get some campaigning going for the chamber in hull to be used for ms patients?!??!?!
