joint pain / cracking joints

Hi all, I just wanted to check if there are others experiencing joint issues?

I’m very stiff and wooden, not flexible at all and I have to “crack” my joints every day several times. Mostly hips and back… I’m not that active as a person and have a sitting job.

I struggle with this and have been Diagnosed with fibromyalgia….. I think it’s just a catch all. Not trying to be negative just so tired of having the pain and them not doing anything about it

@caitlin_leeds Thanks for your respons! I’ll have a look into that. But a diagnosis is not what I’m after, if doctors have no way of resolving symptoms, this is just another label you get.

I have hypermobility spectrum disorder, I was given a diagnosis and left to deal with it alone. Definitely sounds similar but I too am not flexible, just my joints bend backwards, as well as the normal way 😂 boss for a party trick! Have a look into that!

I have joints that make a pop sound my GP doesn’t seem concerned about it at all. When I exercise it sounds like popcorn popping. One day I was exercising and my son walked by, he said I am sorry that everything is wrong with you that sounds awful. I try to do a stretch routine I got from a physical therapists every day. I have read about exercises for people who sit at a desk all day. A lot of them you do sitting down. Potter

I get joint pain now occasionally and I have days where they won’t stop cracking or feel like they need to pop. I’ve just been referred to a rheumatologist.

The sitting job probably isn’t helping. Do you have time to do 15 minutes of stretching before bed? Honestly, it could help. I am always stiff in the morning and if I get into a routine of stretching before bed, it is not as bad in the morning or throughout that day.

I have this.. usually wake up through the night to crack my elbows. My wrists, knees and ankles all crack constantly. Interested to see if anyone’s knows how to help.

I have a desk job also. I was active until a few months ago

Hello @iamgeyser, the slightest change in the way you walk/your gait will particularly affect your hips and lower back. You could see a physiotherapist, who will look at you holistically and set some exersises which should help. Loke you, I sit a lot and my back and hips suffer. I make myself go for a few walks a day to keep my muscles moving 🙂
