Daily Briefing Covid-19 [7th April 2020]

سلام (Hello in Farsi - fer why not), - I am feeling a bit grot. I really don't think it is Covid-19., fingers crossed ;) I am not one to pull the pin, assume the worst and convince myself I am on the verge of death! Paracetamol, coffee, rest it is. - Speaking to @highlander and he sagely observed that we are all suffering from information overload. I hope that I am n0t overloading you. Do not read any further if so. ------- MS Stuff ------- I think we are all getting a bit of cabin-fever by now. For some, this can turn easily into anxiety. The NHS had published a good guide on dealing with anxiety during these odd times. http://tiny.cc/dealwithworry - Many thoughts and conversations are quite reasonably turning to an Exit-Strategy from this whole great mess. Here is a post about this, how people with MS are being affected and the need to sort something out. Presently the government is in disarray with BoJo (poor bugger, I wouldn't wish it on anyone) put of commission and a less than inspiring velcro-shoelaces type deputy in charge. Hey ho. https://tinyurl.com/rkpddbh - I keep repeating the need to sign-up to the register. Easily the most dramatic feeling video we have done with the slightly iffy sound quality and the fact that Richard was sat there in scrubs. I kept expecting his pager to trill and for him to jump up from his chair yelling, 'gotta go'. http://tiny.cc/MSvid5 - For a range of up to date and well curated MS news, there is this US website. Worth reading for a high-level view of all things MS. https://multiplesclerosisnewstoday.com/ ------- Social Stuff ------- Asking for your help. I am planning to learn to touch type and was wondering if anyone had any good DIY sites that they have used? Interested to hear so post below or DM me if you'd rather. Thank you. (presently I do all typing hunched over, looking at the keyboard and with three digits. Sub-optimal :( - Paracetamol wearing off so I'll bid you adieu to go and gobble more painkillers, eat some food and have a lie-down. - Take it easy, stay safe.

Touch typing? Goes back to the exercises from typing class back in high school...what I remember of it was repeating the alphabet over and over...as fast as you could go and noting what letters you had to hunt for or got wrong...BTW we had to do this with blindfolds for the final ;-0 In the end my mind memorized where all the keys were.. It may have helped that I did learn how to play piano at an early age so my fingers were used to doing what my mind told them without any aid of my eyes...but I do type fast!

@ItsMewithMS

After the alphabet we had simple sentences and phrases and eventually paragraphs we had to type...fast...repeatedly until your fingers...and brain were numb
