Conoravirus worries

I work in a supermarket where I serve hundreds of customers, we are not issued with hand sanitizers and get lots of customers daily who lick there fingers, stick cards in their mouths and cough on top of you, Scottish government has issued that there should not be crowds over 500 people but me as well as other staff are pretty much in the firing line, I wasn’t worrying about it at all but a couple of months before I ended up in hospital with ms symptoms I had a severe case of flu (2017) I blame this for bringing on my ms, should I carry on as normal or self isolate, I’m not on any DMT’s but when I take an illness I take it bad and lasts for a while. I don’t know what to do?

@chezn87 , I'm very sympathetic with the situation that you, and thousands of others, find themselves in. Given the way the Corona virus situation has developed, you'd think that your employers would have taken some steps to try and mitigate your exposure. But any action now would possibly be a case of shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted! Although, I'm sure any precautions offered now would be gratefully received. I would assume that having MS and contracting Corona would give us a worse experience than the "man in the street". Any infection, which activates our compromised immune system, can cause a flare up in our MS symptoms. But, this flare up will only last until the infection is resolved and our immune system goes back to sleep. Take care.

Hi @chezn87, are your workplace aware of your condition? If so, they should be amenable to changing your duties until the 'crisis' is over.
