How does MS effect your pregnancy?

So my bf and I been talking about how does MS effects being pregnant? We want to have a baby but not any time soon, we have been talking about it and have thought it through but we not sure how it will effect on the baby or mom with ms. I would like to know what some of the moms here that have ms that have went through it. If you y’all don’t I mind. I have an appointment with my neurologist on Dec 12 to talk about this with my bf. I just want to know for those mom that’s been through it would like to get an idea of it if i decide to do this

Hi @m_m007 pregnancy for me was great. No symptoms throughout it, felt great (people said I looked positivity blooming) but then relapsed 3months after baby was born. Now (9 years later) I just get told I look tired 🙄 xx

Hi @mrss2008 really? What about your meds did that effect it? Or did you have to stop taken it? When I first got diagnosed my neurologist ask me if I planned on getting pregnant again, and at that time I was going through a divorce and was single mom too I told him I was done, never thought I would meet my amazing bf I have now who has been there for me. And my dr told me that because of the meds I take it’s called abugio that I would have to be off of it for 2 years for it to flush out and then I can try he said if I would to get pregnant while that was in my system I would have a defect baby… idk… I’ve never heard of that before because I’ve only been diagnosed going on 2 years now. And I have ask others who has taken them meds and never heard of that before from another form of ms group that I’m in. Idk…. Most of them Say it’s doesn’t effect it and I have done some research of my own said the same but not sure…. It’s just that I’m 34 and my bf 37 we have been thinking about starting a family together and and yes we are going to get married too. But it’s just we have though long hard about this, neither one of us have a bad feeling about it it’s just we want to be safe about it and have a healthy baby and mom.
