Numbness and tingling in MS

How much time numbness and tingling feeling stays for people effecting with MS? Is it constant for long duration or it last for only few seconds and goes away with little movement?
@ItsMewithMS

That may vary by individual based on the location and size of their lesions and by their current "neurological reserve" which will impact how severe your symptoms will be at the moment. I don't really have numbness directly from my MS I don't think. I had numbness and tingling of my left hand that would become the type of hot itch you just can't scratch and that was found actually to be a pinched nerve along my collar bone. It was resolved by stretching and exercise (Yoga and Bellydance) as we as a good massage therapist that sent me on to a chiropractor. This numbness would come on and then fade away. The other numbness I had was in my right thigh after I had a hip replacement on that side. It was just always there. I was prescribed Gabapentin and either with that help or on it's own it gradually went away over a few months. In both of these cases I also had MRIs done that showed no active lesions and since the nerves impacted weren't part of the central nervous system my neuro really didn't attribute them to MS and we looked for other causes...I'm sure you will hear about a mix of experiences here with any nerve issue...a lot of stuff gets on our nerves ;-)

@Emilyvizza

My numbness comes on and it stays until I am treated with steroids! During diagnosis I would have numbness for months without steroids, now when I have numbness neuro sends an at home nurse within a few days.
