Help Scotland!
Has anyone from Scotland gone privately for a diagnosis? I am looking to see if this is an option for me to avoid the horrendous waiting times for appointments. I am quickly going out of my mind 🥴

Hi Tmac, sorry I’m not in Scotland but most NHS neurologists do private clinics too. They usually have an online presence where you can look them up. You would need a GP referral but I’m guessing you already have one. I don’t know how NHS Scotland works but NHS England is very much go privately and it’s a fight to get follow up appointments and treatments on the NHS. If you have private health insurance then check through them who you can see as they will have a list of pre-approved neurologists. They won’t pay out if you go ‘off piste’. If money is no object then none of my message applies 😂
@Remi thank you for your reply. Yes my gp will refer me if it’s something I choose to do. I don’t have health insurance and unfortunately money is an object that’s why I was looking for some info to make sure I could follow it through. Hopefully someone will be able to advise me 😃
