PIP Claim Termination After Tribunal
Hi, just a quick query. I received a letter from the DWP on Saturday, telling me that me PIP was ending in November. There was no indication of them intending to review
After contacting them this morning, they've told me that PIP claims that go to Tribunal are NOT reviewed and that at the end of the claim period, a new application must be submitted
I've never come across anything about this before and would appreciate your advice and guidance
Thanks
@shiremoorpotter They made their original decision and then their reconsideration. The tribunal have obviously rejected the appeal. The DWP will not review a tribunal decision. It will be a new claim if you want.
The Tribunal was in 2017, (award made in 2016), original end date of award was May 2019, extended to May 2020 at Tribunal, then extended to November 2020 due to Covid. I queried with the DWP why they weren't initiating a Review and were ending it instead. They have stated that all awards subject to a Tribunal decision were ended and new claims initiated. Apologies if I was vague or unclear 👍
