Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN)

I have been taking LDN for quite a few years now. 4 to 5 years or so. In the first year or so I was convinced it was helping. I felt I was getting worse less quickly and it helped with the legs. Now several years on I am not so sure. I would need to stop and take note to see if symptoms get worse or not. Or perhaps they might even improve. Anyone got experience of several years taking LDN and any feeling if it is still helping or not?

If you think ldn is no longer working then I guess the only answer is to stop taking it for a few weeks and see if it makes any difference. It’s a tricky dilemma, because sometimes the benefits of ldn can be quite subtle and easily forgotten over time. I do recall reading somewhere that long term users can need a lower dose for the drug to remain effective, but it isn’t true in my case and I continue to benefit from 4.5mg since 2004.

It would take more than a few weeks. It took me 9 months or more to get the right dose and be sure it was having a beneficial effect. But yes, time away from it is perhaps the only way. As symptoms develop over time, it is going to be more difficult to judge the effectiveness of LDN. For me 3mg seems to be optimum, so I am on a lower dose anyway.
