Hi I am due my 4th infusion next week. I did ask the nurse why the flush is 1 hr long and she said that as I have to be observed for 1 hr for the first 12 infusions to monitor for any hypersensitivity, they slow the flush rate down to allow for proper observation. Now, another nurse said it was for 6 infusions. But I can't be sure if that is the actual reason or not.
Dear @Mem10, do persevere. I've been on Tysabri for almost five years. The flush takes 30 minutes, and sometimes the nurse will let me go after 20 minutes if I'm in a hurry! It's a great treatment. Good luck, and best wishes, Jon
