Fatigue treatment

I saw an article recently about some sort of treatment to help fatigue in ppms. One of my problems is that I have a very poor memory and I can't remember what the drug was and where I read about it. Can anyone help?

Could it be Fampridine (aka Fampyra), @jdd0310? The only problem with this drug is that it hasn't been approved by NICE!

However, I believe you are entitled to a one month's free trial to ascertain if it is beneficial to you or not.

I don't think it's Fampridine, I know somebody that uses that and I would have remembered it.

@jdd0310 , Fampridine has been used in the States for sometime as AP4, compounded by a compounding chemist. But I doubt that it's AP4 either. Alpha Lipoic Acid has been mentioned recently... If it's not this, are there any other clues you can give us?

Are you referring to AL Cartinine?

@Jdd0310

That's not I either, I'm wondering whether I made it up and can't remember doing so.

Drug or alternative medicine?

@Jdd0310

It was definitely a drug (if it exists).

@jdd0310 , it wasn't Modafinil, or Amantadine, two drugs which are prescribed for this purpose?

@jdd0310 Good morning to you. Could it have possiibly been 'Biotin' at high doses? Other than modafinil I have no more experience on other fatigue meds, but I am into month 5 of 300mgs of Biotin a day. I'm sure the name will pop into your head when you least expect it, lol. Lisa xxx

BowLocks

@BowLocks

It could be low dose naltrexone, because that can help with fatigue. Not an approved treatment, but perfectly legal. http://www.ms-uk.org/files/choices_ldn.pdf

Ocrelizumab? For ppms generally but unlicensed currently.

I take dexedrine (40 mg) for fatigue management. After trying many different drugs, this one has been the most efficient.
