playing down how I feel

I have an Aunt visiting from Ohio and I took some time off work to help with doing the auld touristy things . trying to do day on and day off but even that doesn't seem to be enough I am beyond wiped . not sure if it's pain or fatigue getting to me the most . tips to boost the energy level to ride out the last cpl days

I also am from Ohio —and would love to see Ireland. But will have to watch Travel programs on tv for now. Whenever I travel (with MS) I try to pretend that I am my old self and push myself to see everything/do everything. But it doesn’t work. I find, even on vacation, I try to do alternating days. At least there, if I can be outside in the sun (perhaps on a beach doing nothing) that is most soothing for my nerves. Being a tour guide and host is a wholly stressful thing, even for those we love….and especially with MS on top of it. When I’m in distress, I drink coffee for a boost of a couple hours …perhaps at 3pm. I think you should let her know that this is not typical activity for you and see if there are some activities she can do on her own…or let you sit and chill while she explores. IT’s hard, because you WANT to do it all. We look healthy in the mirror, but our insides are scrambled. I literally MUST nap 2 hours every afternoon. Maybe you could work that into your itinerary and ask your Aunt to work around that.

@Criscross21 I know exactly what u mean about vacations. The summer before my Dx I was in lake garda , beautiful but the hills Broke me the next summer post DX went to Edinburgh and this time it was the cobbles and uneven surface. This yr I am going big and trying a Cruise . All one level and everything readily available. Better be worth cause it has killed my savings
