Changing hospitals?

Hi everyone! Does anyone have experience with changing hospitals for their MS treatment? I'm being treated at the Royal London Hospital which is apparently an MS specialist centre, but it doesn't hugely feel that way to me. Don't get me wrong, my treatment on infusion days is good and nothing awful has happened, but the lines of communication are crap and I don't feel confident that I can contact my team if I need to. I've been looking into UCL Hospital in Central London and their MS centre sounds brilliant. They also have an app for patients where all your health data, appointments, results etc are accessible which is amazing. Has anyone here changed hospitals, and if so how did you go about it? What was your experience? Basically, I don't feel in control of my own healthcare right now, and I want to feel in control of my own health care. Thanks all ☺️ P.S. I'm aware this is a really London-centric question and not everyone has the privilege of multiple hospitals to choose from - but the question is for everyone! x

@Farah94 I'm in the exactly same position at the same hospital and thinking of changing. Spoke to PALS yesterday to see if anything could be done. Thank you for writing this post as I thought I was going crazy as, as you say, this is supposed to be a great hospital for MS. In terms of the process my GP offered to refer me to another hospital and I've been also thinking about UCL but a few days ago someone was complaining about it as well! For now I'm trying to change the nurse as from speaking to other patients it seems it would help but it's not easy to do. You might want to dig out that thread from a few days ago as people commented on London hospitals there.

Hi, UCL patient here. They are good at getting back to you pretty quickly (on weekdays) but they can be as chaotic as any other hospital when it comes to organising appointments. I do like the staff, especially the nurses so i recommend going to them.
