PIP Assessment
I have a telephone assessment coming up. I'm a bit nervous about it after reading some stories.
Any tips?
Also, it says in my letter that I can request at the start for it to be recorded and they will send a link at the end. Is it worth asking for this?

Good luck. Just don't be polite in terms of making your life out to be easier than it is. Make sure you tell them exactly how difficult each of your daily activities can be. When I last had an Interview they said I didn't need pip for my autism because I could talk. 😂 You won't be talking to a health professional. You will be talking to a person who probably doesn't want to work their with a tick sheet. So make sure you make everything sound as bad as you can to ensure they tick all the boxes. Think about your worst days for each of the questions, not your good days. All the best.
Hi I had a PIP review by telephone back in July. I was quite nervous too but actually it went really well. I had sent off a lot of medical evidence with my pip form from my doctors and other professionals. My assessor was a Physiotherapist who said she'd worked with ms professionals so she had a general idea of what it does to people with it. The call lasted an hour. I didn't have it recorded as I felt I'd supplied enough evidence to support my claim. She asked questions about a typical day, what aids I use, symptoms I have. I had to ask her to repeat some questions and explain some in simpler terms which she did. At the end of the call she wished me well which felt like a positive sign. It took me a few days to calm after but a few weeks later I got my letter with my award renewed for another 3 years and my mobility had gone from standard to enhanced so I was pleased she had been fair in her assessment. :-) Don't try and make things sound better than they are. Keep a copy of your pip form next to you so you can refer to it if needed. Have a drink nearby .Good luck
