Steps to changing work.

Hi all I am starting to consider the idea that I need to think about changing what I do for work. I have been working in admin based work for the last 8 years. The last few years have been harder with concentration and working slower. I have to look at lots of data and I find myself struggling with doing this all day 5 days a week. Even more so in warmer months. I can work from home but this is also isolating. The job really isn't fitting for me anymore but I would really only be able to move into something similar so it would make no difference. I think reducing my hours would be helpful but I can't afford to do that really so I am thinking could I also start a small business to supplement my income and eventually if that picks up leave the other job to do that. I don't really know where to start and feel stuck. Is this something anyone else has been dealing with? Is this something to talk to access to work about? any advice welcome from your experiences. Thanks

Hi, I have just over a year ago set up a small bookkeeping business. I am fortunate to have a reasonably paid employed job too for 17.5 hours per week. It can be a slow process and because you need to balance your health with building the business. Do your research before you start up, look at other small businesses and make sure you do a good job of the website and any social media platforms. It will relieve stress in the short term. Local authorities will often have workshops to help SME so look them up
