Psoriasis

Hi everyone. Apologies that my question is not MS related but as Psoriasis is also an autoimmune condition I'm hoping someone will have some advice. For the least 5 years, my friend has been struggling to get treatment or even get an appointment at the local NHS Trust because her "condition is not serious enough". She is currently going through a severe bout and has exhausted all the topical creams, lotions and potions prescribed and sourced online but nothing has worked. It is not only affecting her physically but also her mental health as she feels helpless and abandoned by the medical world. Does anyone know where or how we can seek help? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you 😊
@KateB

@elsa75, that sounds a bit strange. Surely it is up to her to decide if it is serious or not? I also have psoriasis as well as MS and although it is not bad, my doc has always been helpful. I think she needs to change her doctor. Also, has she tried an anti inflammatory diet?

@Elsa75

Thanks for your response @kateb. She was refused a referral to the Dermatology Dept at the hospital but is trying again as she is currently experiencing a severe exacerbation. Unfortunately everything is delayed at the moment because of covid-19. In the mean time I'm sure she will consider an anti inflammatory diet, which we had not thought of. Do you control your psoriasis with medicine, diet or both? Thank you for the guidance 😊
