Possible swollen lymph node, hot flashes

Hi all, I've been on Tecfidera for a couple of years now. I had some swelling in my armpit in October, which was a bit tender and painful but it went away after a week or so. It's now come back again and I'm thinking it might be a swollen lymph node. I've also been getting hot flashes at night, waking up feeling like a have a burning temperature and a really bad headache. The first isn't listed as a symptom of Tecfidera, but just wondering if any has experienced anything similar to the symptoms I'm having? I've got a GP appointment booked for Friday, and after googling (which I prob shouldn't have done) I'm slightly freaking out.
@guinness

@B Sha you have made the fatal mistake of asking Dr Google, was it Dr Google that said you had a swollen Lymph Node, you say you are seeing your Dr on Friday, mention all your concerns on Friday and please do not rely on Dr Google.

@ItsMewithMS

@b-sha Sounds like Dr Google has a really poor bedside manner ;-0 I've never used Tecfidera but when I look on google I see the same set of articles and information that you likely see and know that you need to be checked out. It is good to know that you are seeing your GP on Friday. Do you have a MS nurseline for your Neuro? You could also try them. I know mine has a line I can call anytime and has coverage over holidays and weekends. When you had this issue in October it sounds like it resolved on it's own but did you see a nurse or talk to your Dr at that time? Can you think of anything that you did at that time that helped resolve it? I can see on-line that warm compresses may help and with it being in your lymphatic system anything that helps that operate normally I would think would be recommended, drinking plenty of water, moderate exercise and even vibration or bouncing activity. I've never looked into this before and it is pretty fascinating. Hopefully some other forum members respond that have resolved this and/or the nurse lines can provide some support. From your profile I can't see your age and in the profile we aren't asked if we are post-menopausal or not. Could be you are experiencing that "change" which could cause some of these symptoms on it's own. But for now symptom management is likely about what you can do- keep your temp down, try to be active to the extent you can be and try to get your sleep however and whenever you can, and probably avoid Dr Google if he isn't helping ;-)
