Nerve pain

Hi i’m just wondering if anyone can give me advice on how to help nerve pain? the past 2 days my spasms have been worse and i’m getting a lot of nerve and muscle pain in my arms legs and fingers. Could this be a possible flare up / relapse? I’m so sick of this pain
thank you

Hi.

A few things.

Neuropathic pain can be treated with drugs – to an extent – and the most popular is gabapentin. I had terrible neuropathic pain., got Rx that and it knocked me out. Hated the stuff. Lo and behold I was popped on low dose Duloxetine. An anti-depressant that also works against the pain with added bonus (I guess) of making things seem far less shitty in general 🙂

Stretching is a Big thing for me. I can get most pain under control with stretching, exercise, physio/massage and some focused yoga style breathing.

Many MSers look outside for help immediately. This is totally understandable. However, after 26y i find that what i do to manage symptoms is at least as important and effective as any drugs. It is a balance and I am far from fully balanced!

@abbie_dale I would really recommend a tens machine. It really helps my nerve pain and spasms. They are pretty cheap and you can find them in Lloyd’s/boots and even on amazon.

CBD oil can also help (can be bought from amazon/Holland and barrat). This is more for long term pain relief rather than immediate pain relief.

My chiropractor (seen for hip issues) would use a tens machine and I liked it…may be worth looking into getting one on my own to use at home.
