Leg cramps

Hi everyone, I am new to this, I am just wondering if anyone suffers with leg cramps through the night and what medication they are on to help these, I have tried lots of things but nothing seems to be helping. 😀

Not sure what supplements you take or if you are on any specific diet. I make sure to have enough calcium (glass of milk daily) and magnesium (glycinate). I also make sure to stretch daily several times for a few minutes at a time and a longer time thoroughly preferably in the evening. Despite this I was still having spasms late afternoon when I would be sitting quietly and again right at bed time when I wanted to sleep. If I woke in the night they could kick in again…so maybe they woke me?

I told my neuro that I was having fatigue from trying to be more active (weeding, walking, etc. I am beat after only about 30 minutes and used to be able to go on all day) and he prescribed Amantadine. It doesn’t really stop the fatigue but has stopped the spasms which is nice even if it isn’t exactly what I was after.

I suffer badly from cramps at night so have decided to do basic leg lunges (10 on each leg, trying not to fall over) twice a day, morning and evening and take 10% strength CBD oil now.
I must say I am seeing some improvement so fingers crossed.
Before the CBD oil I would sometimes be popping paracetamols and ibuprofen before I got into bed. Washed down by a gin and tonic…………………. the pills have stopped now, not the gin 🙂

@susan123 i suffer from spasms/cramping in the evenings too. ive tried quinine, diazepam but no respite with those. Exercises were helping but recently requested Tizanidine only received via prescription yesterday so will report back with my findings.
