Just returned from holiday cottage rented by extended family so we can all be together at Christmas. It cost a fortune and was lovely but to me it just felt really hard work. The floors were all wooden and were terribly slippy. Even with brakes on, my walker and wheelchair would both move and I couldn't get in the shower in my ensuite because it involved a step up. There were also wooden, slippy stairs up from my lower ground floor bedroom to the living room and more stairs to the games room. I felt there was no point in me going away anywhere unless it was a specific disabled place that no one else in the family would want. It felt like another door was closing on me and I would never be able to do anything like that again. I feel like crying. Any ideas about going away with non disabled people and finding somewhere that suits everyone? Thanks
