Great North Run

Hi all

I need help!!
Have any of you done GNR? I have a place with the society but I’m struggling with training…now bricking it that I won’t be able to do it!
Any tips to improve my distance would be great and to manage the extreme fatigue and pain after each run.
Thanks!

try @eatsruns on Twitter. Tell her @DJS_KBO sent you to her. She has MS, is a keen runner and is tied into a lot of other runners with MS.

Hiya
GNR is a lot of fun and the biggest half marathon in the world (I think) so there will be loads of people with you no matter what your speed.
How far are you jogging at the moment?
If you are fatigue and in pain after then it might be finding the right time of day to train. I am very much a morning runner for instance. And for the longer runners I tended to take a pain killer before I started. Nothing strong btw
Happy to talk further.
Best
M

@mark_taylor

20 years an MSer and still out running? Great job!

Less running these days but ironically not MS related. Old football injuries and a damaged hip means the 2 hours runs are long gone. But parkrun and open water swimming (well, floating with a purpose) tend to work 🙂

Won’t it get cancelled?

@supermum1983 that’s speculation and honestly, I’d rather just continue as we are until we know closer to the time.
Thanks for the advice everyone?
