Question:

Power Chair or Mobility Scooter?
@Stumbler

Now, that all depends on your requirements. You have to consider various factors, e.g. Anticipated distances Anticipated terrain transportability, etc. This website has a buyer's guide which may help answer some of these questions for you:- http://www.pride-mobility.co.uk/buyers-guide.aspx Now, back in your "home country", we have a charity called Shopmobility. They hire out these mobility aids, so you can get a feel for what they do and whether they're suitable. You'll have to see if there is a similar service in America.

I am lucky enough to be able to use the tram in Manchester. They allow powered wheelchairs and are currently trialling scooters that conform to specific dimensions. My powered wheelchair gives me a lot of manouverability in confined spaces encountered on public transport. Be prepared for a learning curve and select slower speeds in public spaces! Eddy
