Memory

I am wondering if any of you have severe memory problems? Let me apologize first if I repeat or ramble on. I have been having severe memory problems for a while now. My memory is so bad I can no longer read books, or even long articles. I start then soon I can't remember what I just read so I am lost. I also have not been able to learn new things due to it. I have relapsing progressive multiple sclerosis.

Hi @diesel. I have rapidly evolving severe relapsing remitting ms and I have suffered with memory loss. It started about 3/4 months ago and I was very much like you. I was forgetting everyday tasks including not locking my car or putting the handbreak on! I discussed this with my ms nurse who is brilliant and discussed strategies to help. I have found that having a weekly planner in the kitchen where I write down everything that I am doing, going or need to get done. I also try and give myself the challenge of remember something a day. Just one thing. Also, my phone is a godsend. I put everything in there with several alarms to remind me. The alarms Ard slowly getting fewer and fewer. I'm sorry you're having this problem, it really isn't nice is it?! Chloe ?

Hi @diesel I had that for about 6 months last year, could not read or understand any words, plus mathematical notation looked like alien (I was doing a maths course -failed obviously) it did come back, but if I'm tired or overdoing it my ability to process words fails me. Even though most of it came back, I find it much harder than before, I feel like I have become stupid and that is difficult to bear.
