Do u think I've had my 1st brush with double vision?

Hi all, as you know I am undiagnosed. When at work today I was looking at the keys on the keyboard, keys are black, letters on them are White. I noticed only briefly that whilst I was looking at the numbers the top half of the digits I could see again. Not the whole of the number just the top half. It wasn't dramatic really & didn't last long. What do you think this could have been?
@Aileen

I honestly couldn't say what you experienced today but I have double vision and have had since at least last May. I'm diagnosed but untreated at the moment (two more weeks till I see my new neuro!) My double vision started when I smoked a cigarette (I've since quit) It would only last about 30 seconds so naturally I ignored it. By the end of July however it was there pretty much all the time. I got myself an optician who made up some glasses with prism lenses for me and from there my journey to diagnosis began. I wouldn't be too worried about what happened today, it doesn't really sound like double vision but that's not to say it isn't the early stages of optic neuritis. My double vision makes one item appear as two, right beside each other. The further away things are the further apart the visions. For example I can read my phone perfectly well as it's near me but I would need the glasses to drive or watch tv. When I wake in the morning and last thing at night the double vision goes away. I'm getting longer in the mornings until I need to wear the glasses now. My GP did say this would happen even without treatment but I'd like it to be gone for good! If I were you I'd keep a diary and write down every time something strage happens with you vision. Then next time you are with your neuro or MS nurse tell them about it, what exactly happens and how often it's happening. I'm sure they would be better able to tell you what it is that I would! If you want to chat any more about double vision give me a shout, like I said have had it since May and hopefully getting it treated soon!

@boodle06, it could just be tired eyes. I sit here most of the day looking at my PC screen. Shouldn't be a problem for me, as I've been looking at them so long, I'm now short-sighted! But, when my eyes get tired, then things can start to "change". Things can wander and I have to concentrate to bring them back. It is recommended that if you are working with a computer screen, you should look away at regular intervals and focus on a distant object. @Aileen, a long time ago, I had horrendous double vision, but not from optical Neuritis, but from another MS curve-ball. I used prisms on my glasses, but these were checked every two months and the strength reduced, to bring my eyes back to normal convergence. Are the strength of your prisms and your eyes checked regularly now?
