Tecfidera and immune reaction

Hi, does anyone know about risks of getting infections with Tecfidera? I've been wondering about this since I read that immune reactions differ and MS patients often suffer from "silent" infections when taking immune suppression medication. As I understood Tecfidera works as a modulator but I'm not too sure. Do I need to be extra careful? Thanks in advance 🌻

It can make you more likely to get infections from what I’ve read. I don’t think the experts know exactly how Tecfidera works. I am on Kesimpta which suppresses my immune system. My neurologist said that I just needed to practise good hand hygiene and I haven’t really had any problems (apart from a chest infection when I got Covid in June but that cleared with antibiotics).

I took Tec for 6 months. My boyfriend was extremely happy when I stop because it made me miserable. He told me I was like my normal self again afterwards. That’s just my reaction. I know someone who was happy on it for years. I didn’t get more infections than normal just more hot flushes.
