Walking aids, when to get!?

People that use walking aids, at what point did you “give in” and decide to invest in a stick/crutch? 🥹 I get bad left sided lower back and hip pain after I’ve been sat down (even if only for a few minutes) and walk with a visibile limp for the first 5-10 mins I’m up. On top of that the same pain appears randomly throughout the day while I’m pottering around and I feel ever so slightly wobbly on my feet sometimes. I don’t know if I’m jumping the gun even thinking about this right now? 🙈

Personally I'm stubborn and in future years we'll probably keep walking unaided and earn myself an accident. It wouldn't surprise me if you're back and leg pain is unrelated to Ms so you could try seeing a physio or osteopath if you wish to rule out to the trap nerve.

Hi I have been using a tripod stick since I was in hospital when I was diagnosed I also have weakness in my left side which causes a limp I thought I was getting on okay with it but then my physio introduced a four-wheel walker which I walk a lot better with. I don’t go off to the side. I walk in a straight line and because it’s got a seat if I feel like I need to sit down, I can. For me I was very much no I don’t need it but after walking with my walker I know I need it for my own independence x
