Hi, I'm also recently diagnosed. Initially I had decided for Kesimpta (super effective and convenient). But then they told me that it is not compatible with pregnancy. For this reason I will start probably with Tysabry (which is compatible) for now and maybe switch to Kesimpta afterwards. I read a lot about Kesimpta and it seem to me that is the one with less side effects while being very effective (also by reading on the older posts). I talked with 3 different neurologist specialized in MS (and that are doing active research) and they all told me that between Tysabry, Kesimpta and Ocrevus the results (in terms of effectiveness) are the same. One of them recommended specifically Kesimpta, but just because he would find it more convenient, given his job. Now also Tysabry comes as a subcutaneous injection (like Kesimpta), so there is no need of 1 hour infusion at the hospital. However for Tysabry they want to do the injection at the hospital and not at home since they want to be sure one does not have an allergic reaction afterwards. Tysabry prevents the immune system to go into the brain, while Kesimpta and Ocrevus lower the immune system. So Tysabry has the side effect that if you have bacteria/virus in the brain (which are very rare) the immune system cannot reach it, while the other two make one more susceptible to common infections (like cold/flu) because the immune system is low. I hope this helps and good luck with your decision!
@trinity this was very helpful thank you! See I had originally picked Ocrevus because I thought I had to inject myself every day but the more I read about kesimpta the more appealing it’s sounds as in I don’t have to drive to the hospital 30 miles away! Pregnancy for me isn’t an issue I’ve just had my second child and that’s when my symptoms started whilst I was pregnant and I don’t plan on going again! I know people on Ocrevus and they get on great but for the sheer convenience kesimpta is more appealing, as far as I am aware the symptoms are less common but I know everyone is different. All in all the two are pretty much the same but administered differently?
