E-Petition

Dear my fellow MSers, I came across this link http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/61501 I thought 'if every MS sufferer were to take a minute to sign this, our care would be talked about in the Commons' Topics Treatments and therapies Emotional support.

Over 100,000 people in uk with ms, we've got less than 100 signatures so far, anyone can sign, friends family etc, costs nothing, could help thousands.

Cazzzzzy

@Cazzzzzy

@Graham100 ... Have you been able to message all members of this site? Is that possible? Maybe @Stumbler can move your post to the top of speakeasy and make it a sticky for a while so it stays at the top of the posts in speakeasy! xxx

@Graham100

Think it's only for uk post code so there are lots of people living outside uk on hear, friends and family? Don't think you have to have ms to sign. My daughter & friends have, can only try, but think there are lots of petitions about. Thanks.

@Stumbler

@suzielow , do complain to your MP about your treatment. I've always had a concern regarding this process and how it can have a detrimental affect on MSers. Have a look at this topic :- https://shift.ms/topic/dlapip-reassessment-for-uk-readers/

Signed It's been more than 12 weeks since I applied for PIP (Personal Independance Payment) and I even phoned them to check on the status and got brushed off and told I needed to wait for them to get back to me. I have gone from 37hrs per week to 24hrs over the time I have had MS and the money I earn has gone down and I'm now paying more for my rent then I did 5 yrs ago when I was working 37hrs. They need to help us a lot more then they are right now because I'm in a lot of debt because of the Tax & Benefit changes in recent years.

Stumbler

@Stumbler

@MrVelocity , I can appreciate how frustrating this situation is for you. First things first, get round to the Citizens Advice Bureau. They will be able to ensure that you are receiving the correct benefits for you and your young family. Secondly, get in contact with your local MP. It is recognised that the Disability Benefits system is approaching meltdown, but notwithstanding that, your children make you a priority case. Your MP will bring some pressure to bear. The wheels of bureaucracy run very slowly, unless we "give it a kick"!

Signed. I am only recently diagnosed with RRMS, and am fortunately still able to work, but this does worry me for the future. Hope that you get some progress soon @MrVelocity. My workplace used to use ATOS as their Occupational Health provider but thankfully have recently switched to another in response to problems.

Well done everyone, if we can't even be bothered to sign something that costs you nothing, you can't expect things to change, we have to make a stand. There's strength in numbers. Thanks guys.

Jonesbear

@Jonesbear

I agree @Graham100 I've just looked and there's not even 200 signatures we should be able to do a lot better than this. Everybody should tell everybody they know I've told all my family and friends and I made sure I was there with them to ensure that they did.

Graham100

@Graham100

Jonesbear. I find it hard to believe less than 200? With all the people I know, plus lots of people like us whose friends and family have signed, makes know sense???
