How to get an appointment with Professor Gavin Giovannoni

I really want to have a second opinion from another consultant and most people pointed to Professor Gavin Giovannoni. I know he is in Barts Hospital. I found an email for NHS queries at the bottom of this page https://www.qmul.ac.uk/blizard/all-staff/profiles/gavin-giovannoni.html but it bounced back and I couldn't find his name as someone who see patients. Any one can help me to find a way?

Hi - Gavin Giovanni doesn't have a private practice as far as I can see, so I don't think you can necessarily 'choose' him as a second opinion. Patients in the catchment area of St Bart's will be referred there, and be allocated to a neurology consultant, he is one of several. He is also pretty busy as he leads on a number of trials. It's worth mentioning that the reason you've been pointed towards him is that he's well-known because he runs the MS-selfie newsletter and is leading on the STAR-MS trial for HSCT. If you want a second opinion, and you're happy to pay, you could locate a private neurologist via the BUPA website in the area you'd like, then ask your GP to refer. If you're looking for a second opinion on the NHS, you could ask your MS nurse if you could see a different neurologist at your next visit or ask if you can be referred to a different hospital department (St Bart's would only work if you live in the area of London that it covers, or you're a specialised case, I think). There would be a wait for a second NHS consultant, of course, but I don't know how long.
