Toilets in supermarkets

Just been to get some shopping and I really needed the loo.. but the toilets were closed! In which I had to leave my shopping and drive home to use the toilet. Anyone else having this problem when your out and about?? Or is there anyways that people with MS can use the toilets in supermarkets? Thanks

hi - bit of a nightmare isn't it :( I think the MS society provides multilingual cards that explain briefly the condition and the need for access to facilities. It's not a permission slip, but it might help in the difficult conversations with shop staff... and then there's always the escalation "i'll contact your manager, head office..." angle. Shop floor staff are probably just towing the line, whereas a manager might be more able to make a reasonable exception.

Hi @rebeccar07, yes you can get an 'I have MS' type of card; maybe your MS Nurse would know where to get one from? Other than that, as we all find, it's all in the planning; I only go to shops now where I know exactly where to find the loos!
