“It has been approved for treating muscle stiffness and spasms, known as spasticity, in multiple sclerosis. But doctors will not be allowed to prescribe it to treat pain”

not planning to have it yet anyway just wondering.

@highlander , oh, how cynical! We’ll be too stoned and miss the box with our “X”!

The new guidelines go on to mention :-

“Treatment with THC:CBD spray should be initiated and supervised by a physician with specialist expertise in treating spasticity due to multiple sclerosis, in line with its marketing authorisation.”

How many GPs does that include…….

@ highlander very interesting read but at the end of the day the use of THC, CBD spray or oils being made legal and readily available either from a physician, or a specialist who knows what they are doing i’m sorry to say just will not happen. For those who have never experienced the effect of Marijuana, THC oil, the effects can be quite scary the last thing anybody wants is to throw a WHITEY. So everyone has to be cautious.

Put the call in to my MS team this morning when I read this & had a call back to say I’m on the list 🤞.As my neuro said last month if she could prescribe it ( on the NHS) she would, well now she can so let’s see how long it takes.
I was offered it on private script but with a daughter at university that’s not an option , no spare cash.
This is my last hope as nothing else has worked🤞🤞🤞

I was thinking the same about being able to take the new cannabis drug . Never smoked a joint in my life but wondered if it would take my spasticity away and pain . I was diagnosed 19 years ago and feel I need something to help me . If anyone is struggerling with bladder issues I am doing my pelvic floor to strengthen my muscle .
