have got Primary Progressive. cannot tap my right foot. the signal from my brain gets down my spine but gets lost down my main berve through my leg to my foot. but if you touch my toes and foot I can feel it clearly so the signal is getting back to my brain with no loss. why can’t the movement signal use the aame route?

@frankoz , I can only suggest that the nerve endings on the surface of your feet and toes use a different neural route than that which goes to the muscles governing the movement.

That’s just my best guess. It’s a physiological question, which is best directed to your Neuro for an absolute answer.

I am just fascinated that the brain and body is usually so good at re-routing things.

You feel the skin of your feet and toes
And you miss the ability to move the feet toes as a whole
I suggest you go to your neuro explain how you feel you may ask about any treatment they think is best for you
Also ask them for best physiotherapy methids

You have different nerves for moving (motor neurons) and feeling (sensory neurons) and the signals are processed by different parts of the brain. This could explain what you are experiencing.

It’s good advice to see a neuro-physio though. There may be improvements that you can make on your movement.
