Travel?

Evening all Im from the UK and thinking to go on a 4 day holiday to New york in March, I know this is a stupid question but can you go abroad there with MS or possible MS diagnosis to America? Thank you x
@lauraforde

We've just booked a trip to Italy and got travel insurance, slightly more expensive but I don't have any unmanageable mobility problems. Have you looked at insurance as that would be your sticking point. The USA has no public health care system...... Yet

@ItsMewithMS

I'm in the US but far away in Wisconsin ;-) if you use the magnifying glass and search members there are a lot of forum members from New York if you have specific questions but it is a pretty modern city ;-0 But yes we do work off of private health insurance so I am not sure what you would do about care while you are here if any is needed. I'd check with your nurse regarding. Not sure what DMT you are on and if you need to transport but they would also likely know what to do about that as well or your drug manufacturer would. I'd see if there is a "MS Center" or neurologist close to where you plan to be and give them a heads up if you are concerned you may need care while you are in the area or the US MS society may have ideas. Enjoy your trip - I've visited New York and had a wonderful time. I was in the Manhattan area and found people very friendly. I do have friends and relatives in the area so can link you to them if you have questions that are non-MS related
