My auntie had ms, she was the first and only other family member that had it, as far as we're aware. Her story was not a good one. So my relatives from that side look at me with pity which isn't great. Just need to educate them that everyone's ms is different and hopefully my story will be different.
My mom and 2 of her sisters had Ms. I just got diagnosed and I've heard i have a cousin who was diagnosed. My mom had it since early 90s and passed away at 57 completely unrelated to ms. My mom couldn't walk well but she didnt ever really follow any treatment plan and abandoned all medication in 1999. She went in for a steroid treatment twice between 1999 and 2017. She smoked cigarettes. Drank frequently. Went to the casino alot , deer hunting, fishing etc. But she was always wore out. I think the fatigue was her biggest enemy.
