@Hello, I am a mom whose son was recently diagnosed with MS. He is 32 years old. Prior to his diagnosis, Jeff, had a few bouts with numbness in his hand and face. His primary MD sent him for an MRI and that is where they discovered the lesions on his brain. It took several more MRI's before he was 100% diagnosed. Jeff had 3 doses of IV Steroids and was finally started on Aubagio pills for his MS. He has an extreme stutter since March of this year. He has difficulties walking, numbness/tingling in his hands and feet, constant headaches and difficulties with his vision. At this point, my son is not willing to join any support groups and he appears so depressed. He had to sell his pool cleaning business, originally he had planned of going back into the restaurant business but due to him being unable to do any prep work with a knife and not able to speak do to his stutter he feels helpless. As a mom I just want him to see his worth and take it one day at a time. That is why I am reaching out to this group to hear your stories and hopefully learn a bit more on how to proceed with this disease, most of all for Jeff, at one point, to reach out and understand that he is not alone in this. They say it takes at least a year to wrap your head round the diagnosis. The best you can do, I think, is go on being supportive and don’t hurry him into ‘seeing his worth’ - let him feel the feels. It is a shocking thing to realise you have MS and takes time to adjust to your new normal. I’d recommend you both watch some Aaron Boster stuff on YouTube - he’s a very down to earth and helpful MS specialist who explains a lot. And when Jeff is ready then he can chat on here :) Good luck with everything x

Although Aubagio is a MS DMT, it's part of the Revion 1 of DMTs that have limited efficacy. He needs to be on something new and greater efficacy DMT: Tysabri, Ocrevus, Kesimpta, Mavenclad, Rituxan. All the best to your son and remember he can't afford not to have the best DMT that works best for him!!! He also needs to take vitamins and minerals: vitamin D3 & K2 - minimum 10,000 IU & 200 mcg, vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin) - minimum 200 mcg and Magnesium Glycinate - minimum 200 mg. Good Luck!!!
