Kesimpta
Hi 👋 i was diagnosed with RRMS january 2025 but have had symptoms from march 2021. Last thursday i started my first dose of Kesimpta - the injection itself was fine but the after symptoms were extremely intense for me that still 4 days later i feel off. Is it normal for you to still have sort of cold like symptoms or could i have maybe have caught a cold from the change in weather? my MS is 100% better when there is heat or hot weather so this up down change is affecting it. If i have caught a cold will this now affect me taking the 2nd dose? I have tried to reach my kesimpta nurse but she is off for a few days so now a little panicked i may need to miss or move the second dose - thank you 🙏🏼 💖
Hi there! I've been on Kesimpta for 4 years. From what I recall, the first few 'loading doses'are pretty intense and your reaction is common. Do persevere with it because now, for me anyway, it is all good. I think the first three/ four months were pretty ropey. Now, I get maybe a days worth of feeling a tiny bit flu like and then all good. It's so convenient and I have had no new lesions since using it. MRI this week so hopefully that's still the case. I hope it gets better for you. I have delayed doses when I've been sick atvthe advice of the MS team, but I think the first loading doses have to be taken weekly for the first month. I think there may be a Kesimpta helpline number somewhere to check? Sounds like it's bad timing for you. Good luck. I hope you get to speak with someone and that it all goes well. X
I started kesimpta last October, it hit me at the 3 rd loading dose I felt like I had the start of a cold for a few days , then it settled down. I would definitely inform your ms team and kesimpta nurse. In the meantime take paracetamol and wrap up to keep warm.
