Vumerity
I am newly diagnosed at age 53. While in hindsight i now realize i have experienced and ignored symptoms for years, it seems i am now in a progressive space where things can no longer be ignored. My doc wants me to start Vumerity and i am so nervous about DMTs. Any experience to help ease my anxiety is greatly appreciated! I am just in a place of overwhelm trying to wrap my head around this.
I have only used Ocrevus which is an infusion every 6 months. I have found it to be very helpful. I have had no new lesions in years. It has helped with symptoms as well. I have not had any side effects as to date. I would say DMT are a good thing. Don’t be afraid to get a second opinion. There are also many DMTs available so if this one does not work out don’t be afraid to switch. I encourage you to asks questions of your Neurologist as to why they chose this option and the advantages and disadvantages of it. If you are not comfortable then don’t be afraid to get a second opinion.
I’ve been newly diagnosed and will start OCREVUS ZUNOVO in December. Have almost no symptoms but my optical nerve is bottomed out and the hope is that treatment will stop or at least delay blindness plus other MS related issues in the future. I found it all a little overwhelming at times to become an “expert “ over night and make the right choices. Forums like this one helps. Did you sign up with an MS center near you?
