First Full 600mg Ocrevus
Hey guys, just wanted to see if anybody else has had the same issues that I am having before?
-I got my first half dose of Ocrevus In December, and I had a reaction that caused a very hot feeling throughout my body (feeling like the inside of me was on fire)
-The second half I received in January I got a very scratchy throat (like I had strep) also got the same hot feeling throughout my body.
- THIRD DOSE; The instruction was given at home by the nurse and about 35 minutes in. I had that same hot feeling and scratchy throat. We decided since I was at home and not at a facility. It was best to stop the infusion.
Has anyone else had this type of reaction on the third infusion still?
Did you switch to a different medication since your body just wasn’t tolerating the drug?
I know everybody’s different But just wanted to share today with you and see if anybody has had the same thing happen!
Hope Everyone is well!! :)
Well I’ve been on Ocrevus for 5 years now, I know before the infusion is given, premeds are given first, Tylenol, Benadryl, and iv steroids, I end up going to sleep from the Benadryl, have you told your nurse or neurologist about what occurs?
Hey, hope you're doing well! I've been on Ocrevus for maybe 4 years now... it's 3 or 4 years I can't quite remember, maybe even 5 😂... But yeah, whilst I'm taking the infusion I get a few reactions, one of them being the scratchy sore throat that almost feels like it's tightening! A few others during the infusion include a rash on my thighs that happens every time they bump up the speed of the drip... a weird tingly feeling at the back for my eyes and nose, and a high heartrate... all of which subside within 30 mins after they start, and if they get a bit too much I tell the nurses, - they drop the speed which resolves them straight away! As for after the infusion when I'm back home that's when I get the hot feeling inside my chest... usually lasts all night and is gone by next morning though! I do sometimes get migraines when back home too! I have told the nurses and they don't seem to be too bothered about them.. only that I can't have the new fast Ocrevus injection due to my reactions. Just make sure to get plenty of rest and keep hydrated though the whole infusion and afterwards! Sound like I've just moaned a lot there haha! But I dont really find it all too bothersome. Hope this helps!
