Which DMT?

I am newly diagnosed but been expecting it all year. It became official today. I’m deciding between Kesimpta and ocrevus. Leaving towards Kesimpta as it seems easier to fit into my lifestyle (distance to hospital/after effects). Would be grateful to hear about any experiences. Thank you!

I have been on both, Ocrevus and Kesimpta. Ocrevus is convenient with the twice a year dosage. However, the long infusion (I have had it take up to 7 hours to be completely finished,) it can be quite cumbersome. Also, the “crap gap” can be rough. This is two weeks before, and after, infusion that all of your MS deficits flare up and make you feel horrible. Kesimpta is a once a month shot in the fat in your stomach. I couldn’t feel it, myself. Almost zero side effects, and a 2 day “crap gap” rather than 2 weeks. Given the choice? I would go Kesimpta. Personally, I am getting ready to start Briumvi in a couple weeks. Marketing says it’s a twice a year infusion, but only takes an hour, and fixed the “crap gap,” issues. Well, let’s find out! Yeehaw! 🤠

I've actually been on both. The truth is they're both CD20 therapies, so there isn't a huge amount in it from an effectiveness point of view. Ocrevus worked well for me, but I switched to Kesimpta for the same reasons you're considering it, mainly convenience and not having to spend half a day in hospital every 6 months. I've been on CD20 treatments for most of my MS journey now, around 81 months since diagnosis, and they've genuinely changed the game compared to what was available years ago. I've worked full-time throughout, got a wife, 3 kids, a mortgage, and have had very little disease progression. Kesimpta isn't magic and I still get symptoms, fatigue, the occasional wobble and the usual MS nonsense, but it's kept me in the game and fits around normal life really well. For me, a 30-second injection at home once a month beats sitting in an infusion chair. If I had to choose again today, I'd still pick Kesimpta. 👍
