Dizziness/vertigo?
How do you all usually feel these?
Recently I started having what I’d call nystagmus episodes where my eyes go horizontally like crazy (fixable by fixating on my finger pretty quickly) or even today when I was on an appointment with my neuro just the act of laying back on the room bed thing was enough to make my head feel super full and my eyes go wild and my whole body wanting to get on its side and hyperventilating - sort of wild really.
What my neuro said was that she in the past believed these weren’t related to my brain lesions, but yes to inner ear stuff. Welp, not anymore! She just told me to wait some time while still taking betahistine. Opinions?
Just diagnosed last week with RRMS no symptoms bar an episode of ON in June . All resolved . 3 yrs ago though I woke up one morning spinning . Gp diagnosed labyrinthitis . Various pills thrown at me non worked . Prochlorperazine, Cinnarizine then Betahistine. Eventually got to see a ENT specialist who did a mri and various hearing tests and balance tests . Vestibular neuronitis . Then a few months later saw another one . Visual vertigo or vestibular migraines “ we don’t really know you’ll just have to live with it “ useful hey ! 3 yrs later I’m diagnosed with ms . The first scan via ent said possible demyelination. I asked the neuro he said it wasn’t ms back in June . Then the eye went so had another mri . Which when compared to the ent mri there was 2 new lesions on it that was weren’t there before 🤷♀️. Asked neuro on wed , do what about the dizzy ? Didn’t really get closure on that and his reply was “ start treatment for the ms and see if it helps the dizzy “ but my triggers are suspicious of vestibular migraine . More floaty than dizzy . And lots of visual triggers .
@LisaJ45 hope the meds do help you. At least from my knowledge, Kesimpta has been reducing the size of my lesions and no new ones but I understand not having like a “take this, you stop feeling dizzy” kind of med is just sad and disheartening and confusing even :/
