Ocrevus?

I’m 24 and I had my very first infusion of ocrevus on Monday, after my diagnosis in June this year. I had the 10 minute injection into my stomach and then handed the leaflet from the medicine box, with it saying side effects of a weakened immune system and could get herpes, upper respiratory tract infection, flu and lots of other infections. I feel overwhelmed and just absolutely terrified, I work in childcare which I love but with a weakened immune system will I have to be super cautious, wearing a mask and sanitising regularly?

Just be extra careful. When I was choosing my DMT I was a teacher in secondary and I was advised against Ocrevus for that reason. Schools are a breeding ground for infections 😩 and it’s kind of hard to isolate from everyone when you work in schools so I went for Kesimpta. I don’t teach anymore so I’m considering Ocrevus now. Perhaps you can speak to your manager/employer about your concerns and see if there’s any flexibility abatible for you?

@Lizabeth

I’m a secondary teacher on Ocrevus and don’t wear a mask unless there’s heightened risk. All is well so far!
