When will we get rid of MS labels?

RRMS, PPMS, PPMS, Benign. I have attended specialty speakers and from just general reading and understanding these are just BS terms. If 85% of RRMS become SPMS is there really a difference? And can we get rid of the whole benign term? If MS can be benign people would never go to the dr to begin with.

I tend to agree with you @jaygoettsch . The boundaries between these different variants is cloudy to say the least, if not damned subjective!

@tessa

When I was diagnosed in 1965 at 16 it was quaintly called disseminated sclerosis. It seemed strange to me that an illness with so many permutations should be categorised as one. I felt they really didn't know much about it . Now after all these years with no symptoms at all I have been reacquainted with the condition and spms! I find it now has 4/5 names and I still feel they don't know much more about it. Smoke and mirrors as my sister said!
